Clarendon Alliance Welcomes Jenée Padmore as its New Executive Director

The Clarendon Alliance is excited to announce the appointment of Jenée Padmore as Executive Director.

"Jenée brings a wealth of experience in community organizing, economic development, nonprofit management, and event production," said Scott E. Pedowitz, President of the Clarendon Alliance Board of Directors. "She joins us during an unprecedented time for our neighborhood and organization, and we are looking forward to working with a leader of her caliber."

"As a longtime resident of Northern Virginia, I am excited to have this opportunity to work for a neighborhood that I love," Padmore said. "I look forward to providing guidance and awareness as we navigate our lives during this challenging season. I am excited to highlight the diversity and uniqueness of this area. I am eager to bring my passion and knowledge for community and economic development to Clarendon, strengthening relationships throughout Arlington, while creating innovative and inclusive initiatives for our growing diverse and unique population."

Before joining the Clarendon Alliance, Padmore served as Portfolio Manager for CBRE, Director of Count the Region, Economic Development Associate for the Town of Vienna and NoMa Business Improvement District, and Coordinator of The Mark & Brenda Moore and Family Foundation. Padmore has planned and executed COVID-19 relief for businesses in Northern Virginia, developed a regional comprehensive Census initiative aimed at educating hard to count populations, and designed and implemented economic research and analysis studies. She has planned special events with Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, Posse Foundation, Hopkins House, American Heart Association, and Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of African American History and Culture.

As Executive Director, Padmore will be responsible for executing the Clarendon Alliance's strategic plan, developing and managing Clarendon Day, and establishing events that support Clarendon's local businesses and residents. "I am passionate about community collaboration and outreach. I recognize the unique circumstances that have confronted our neighborhood. As we recognize each hurdle, I look forward to helping our amazing population find resources and solutions to help them succeed," Padmore said. In the coming months, Padmore will reach out to community stakeholders and learn the area's priorities.
